Rock of Ages Kennel is a full-time dog training facility serving clients seven days a week (with limited availability during football season). We offer a flexible training schedule to accommodate every dog owner’s needs. As a trusted, state-licensed, family-owned dog training business established in 1998 in Kankakee County, we bring unmatched experience and care. Our team includes Gypsy, a Master Dog Trainer with over 40 years of professional experience, and Lori, a certified dog trainer with 15 years of expertise. Together, we provide a compassionate, results-driven, and realistic approach to dog behavior and obedience training.
Lori also serves as an expert canine legal witness for a U.S.-based legal agency, offering insights on dog behavior, dog bite cases, aggression assessments, kennel law, and canine training protocols. Our specialized programs are tailored to handle dogs of any breed, size, or temperament, with a particular focus on aggression and problem behaviors.
Expert Breeders and Home of the Canis Panther
At Rock of Ages Kennel, we proudly breed AKC Czech working line German Shepherds and are the original breeders of the Canis Panther – a loyal and protective family companion. Our dogs are raised and trained either outdoors or within our climate-controlled indoor training facility to ensure comfort and consistent results year-round.

Puppy training through advanced obedience Therapy Dog Program Leadership
Outside of the kennel, Lori serves as the Therapy Dog Training Director and Program Advisor at Riverside Hospital. She oversees the training and evaluation of dogs participating in the Animal Ambassador program, having trained and certified over 175 therapy dogs for hospitals and care settings.
Lori is also the Founder and CEO of The Schatzi Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit therapy dog organization that actively collaborates with the Bradley Public Library and the Bourbonnais Children’s Museum through its R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) initiative. This unique program encourages children to improve their literacy skills by reading to certified therapy dogs, hosted twice monthly.
